A CELEBRATION OF COLOR
The 2003 AGTA Spectrum Awards
‘Tis the Tucson gem fair season, and the best of colored gemstone and jewelry design is showcased in the 2003 AGTA Spectrum and Cutting Edge Awards competition. The vibrant beauty of colored gemstones is brought to life by some of today’s come creative jewelry designers.
Last year, the Spectrum Awards, sponsored by the American Gem Trade Association, replaced the previous method of categorizing designs by price point with more progressive fashion categories: bridal, business/day, casual, evening, and men’s. Designs are also judged for Manufacturing Honors as well as Platinum Honors (sponsored by Platinum Guild International USA). The Cutting Edge awards, to honor excellence in the lapidary arts, were also included in the contest.
On the following pages are highlights from the 2003 AGTA Spectrum Awards. For a complete list of winners and future contest information, call AGTA at (800) 972-1162 or visit www.agta.org. The world of gems just got a little brighter.
