This Spring, the fashion magazines are swarming with honeycomb hexagonal motifs and looks inspired by the life of bees. We observed this buzz-worthy trend everywhere from prints to beehive hairstyles on the runways of designer brands like Tory Burch, Gucci, and Miu Miu. The queen bee of this trend is Alexander McQueen designer Sarah Burton, whose collection of avant-garde wasp-waisted silhouettes inspires us all (our sketch below, an example of recent McQueen styles). So what’s missing from this McQueen look seen in March 2013 Vogue?  We think it needs a Mark Schneider ring with a rich honey-colored citrine cut just like the hexagonal wax cells of a honeycomb!
